Drywall is Discolored
There might start to be a visible water mark on your drywall in areas that have been affected by water as well. You may notice that these brown rings continue to grow in size as well. The longer the problem is there, the large the ring will likely be.
Dark or Black Mold on Drywall
Moisture usually brings with it mold growth if it is left for a long period of time. You may even start to nice that there are dark brown or black part of your drywall. They may only be small specks, or they may be large areas that are dark and discolored. This is an indication that there is a moisture problem and mold has started to thrive in that area. Peeling Paint on Drywall
When your drywall has several layers of paint on it, water can start to cause problems by making the paint peel off. You may notice that there are large sections of paint that are literally starting to slough off of the wall or the ceiling in areas that have been exposed to large amounts of water.
